Shaped by light, held by colour — stained glass pieces that bring calm, clarity, and joy.
In a bright corner of Derbyshire’s High Peak, surrounded by hills, family, and a very opinionated spaniel named Sasha, Linda Sheldon creates work that glows with stillness, colour, and heart.
She’s now a full-time stained glass artist.
But she didn’t set out to be.
It began with a workshop — a simple wish to learn something new so she could make a Mother’s Day gift. But from that very first piece, something shifted.
Glass became more than a craft.
It became a way to explore creativity, to bring joy to others, and to anchor herself through life’s changing seasons.
Every piece Linda creates passes through many careful stages: cutting, shaping, leading, soldering, and polishing. It’s a process that asks for patience and presence — and in return offers something luminous.
Her inspiration often comes from the landscape beyond her window: the soft curve of Derbyshire hills, the shifting moods of the sky, the quiet beauty of the place she calls home.
But her work is also shaped by the people she creates for.
A gift.
A keepsake.
A commission that carries meaning.
Linda’s stained glass holds more than colour and light.
It holds a moment.
A memory.
A sense of calm.
And here in the Guild Showcase, every piece reminds us of something simple and powerful:
Beauty doesn’t always shout.
Sometimes it’s quiet.
And glowing.
And strong enough to weather any storm.
